Gelert Ltd are proud to announce that they are a sponsor for the 2011 Porthmadog Triathlon.

With their head offices and distribution centre in the town, it is an ideal opportunity to support this “local” event.

The event has been organised to help celebrate the 200th anniversary of the construction of “Y Cob” by William Madocks, the founder of the town. This is an embankment to keep out the sea and reclaimed hundreds of acres of good farming land which is below sea level.

This is the first triathlon to be held in the Town and the organisers have put together swim, cycle and run route’s which make the event very much a “Try a Tri” event, to encourage local people and others from outside the area, to have a go and enjoy the experience. Family, friends and visitors to the area are encouraged to come along to support the competitors and enjoy the occasion.
