Guest Bloggers & Reviewers
Meet the people that will be providing you with industry insights, independent reviews and general good reading.
GearWeAre
Meet Andy and Muzz, GearWeAre.com founders, a website that is dedicated to telling you what is good and bad in the world of the outdoors.
So who are they, Andy is a designer who works in the outdoor industry and specializes in the destruction of trouser knees, tent-pegs and jacket zips, and Muz, is a journalist with over 15 years experience, who has reviewed everything from music festivals to folding cups and found just the right words to describe both.
Both Andy and Muzz will be reviewing countless amounts of Gelert equipment and clothing, as well as writing a few witty blogs in-between the relentless testing. You will be able to find the reviews here on gelert.com or on their own site GearWeAre.com.
UK Active Outdoors
UK Active Outdoors aim to be UK leading outdoors resources, offering in depth reviews, videos and guides. With a love of extreme weather and testing product to the limit, they are often searching for snow to test sleeping bags or chasing tidal waves for a quick surf.
So who are these fearless individuals?
Tristan Bawn is the director of UK Active Outdoors, a website aiming to inspire people to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. He is an outdoors enthusiast and when he’s not trekking in the Welsh mountains or crawling through caves, Tristan can often be found jumping into the muddy water of the river Severn to surf the Severn bore. However, when he’s not partaking in zany activities, he likes nothing more than to step it down a gear and enjoy the countryside with his young family.
Simon Wyndham, a dab hand when it comes to video production. Trained at the BBC he currently owns his own production company, Five Element Productions. Simon’s love of the outdoors has lead him to work alongside UK Active Outdoors to produce high quality videos covering an enormous variety of outdoor sports and activities.

Camping Ninja
Campingninja is the UK’s largest independent website where you can find and book a campsite online. Campingninja is designed for people who want to find their perfect pitch quickly and then book it all in the same place – like laterooms.com or hostebookers.com, but for camping. Campingninja was born to ensure no more tedious phoning or emailing – their mission is for people to spend less time indoors planning, and more time outdoors doing the stuff they love!
So who are the pair who gave up perfectly good jobs to make going camping better for everyone?
Rhian Evans is a director of Campingninja with a background in a whole heap of things including writing software; leading hiking trips in Monument Valley and temple tours in India; recycling things; managing operations in Americas and Africa for Explore Worldwide; and steering digital tourism stuff for Welsh Assembly. Rhian can often be found, when not in a tent, up a mountain snowboarding, mountain-biking or hiking; playing rugby or hockey; or walking other people’s dogs!
Geoff Vaughan is the other director of Campingninja who also has a varied background in diverse areas including; cricket coaching in South Africa; leading treks in Mauritania and cycle rides in Croatia; Student Union Treasury; something to do with Chemistry; and managing operations in Asia and Europe for Explore Worldwide. When Geoff is not in a tent he can often be found buying tents, looking at tents or planning a trip where he can take a tent. Geoff is also a bbq expert, a mountain-biker and a walker.
