Innovation

It goes without saying that Gelert prides itself on the quality and performance of all the products within its portfolio but a major part of the development process is ‘innovation’. It is through innovation that Gelert can offer the consumer something unique, something that is only available through Gelert.

Gelert introduced this new tent concept into the market in 2006. The Quick pitch tent was, and still is, a unique design pop up tent. Based around a simple 2 pole system the tent folds away into a circular bag and then simply ‘springs’ to life. It also featured a unique element to the design in that the structure is sloped, the entrance of the tent is higher than the rear of the tent, this is an exclusive design for Gelert and as a consequence has been registered to protect the design from being copied by anybody else.

As this is a unique design to Gelert it has been registered as a ‘Registered Design’ for the UK and Europe, registered design number 3021187. This design number is visible on both the product and the packaging therefore confirming that this is an official Gelert product. If the consumer sees this number on the tent they can have the confidence that it is a real Gelert tent.

The ‘unique’ Sleeping Pod was added to the Gelert sleeping bag range in 2010 and has proven to be extremely successful. Like the Quick Pitch Tent, this sleeping bag design has now been registered to Gelert, registered design number 400822 and is therefore exclusive to Gelert.

The Sleeping Pod’s innovative design allows for a more comfortable sleeping experience, it offers unrestricted body movement allowing you to sleep in any position you find comfortable.

In 2010, the Sleeping Pod was declared the winner of the Sleeping Category of the Camping Magazine Awards. According to Camping magazine editor Clive Garrett, “The judges love the fact that the Sleeping Pod’s unique oval shape allows you to curl up and move around until you can find the perfect comfortable position – just like in your bed at home.”
